I recently purchased part of a collection which obtained a titanus giganteus. At the side of the male seems to be a Ctenoscelis, which I think the collector may have mistaken for a female titanus, but all the specimens in the box are paired. Is the (female titanus,) a wrong ID by the collector? there are a pair of Ctenoscelis coeus in the box which do look like the specimen pictured. regards peter (there is no collection data for the female, the male says belizon cayenne, C Farrel 1989. Ctenoscelis used to be referred to as "the poor man's Titanus" lol
SO its def not a female Titanus. It could be C.coesus, not sure, but it would be a good guess.
Maybe you can post a picture of the Ctenoscelis coeus pair? As they could be C. ater...
