Megalopyge opercularis, third instar? Southern Flannel Moth (Puss Caterpillar).

Try sawfly larva, maybe in the genus Eriocampa?

Try sawfly larva, maybe in the genus Eriocampa? I've been thinking sawfly since I first saw the photo (A coworker took the shoot). In the larger photo, there are about a dozen cats, all with the waxy filaments. Seems like a hymenopteran to me. j
