I have often noticed that the Bumblebees of the genus Bombus seem drunk, dazed and confused when feeding at the very tall and impressive Woolly Headed Thistle [ Cirsium eriophorum ]. Perhaps thats why in Britain I rarely see lepidoptera visiting this flower for its very rich nectar. Attachment DeletedDrunk Bombus species at Cirsium eriophorum.

It's funny seeing lepidoptera getting drunk off fermented fruits.

It seems having a lepiholics anonymous would be useful for collectors AND butterflies there might be some awkward encounters after the meetings though-let's hope no alexandrae show up
