Dear colleagues, does anybody know anything about "DIANA DIANA" from "BEIJING BEIJING", currently offering rare Tibetan Parnassius species and subspecies for surprisingly cheap prices???

Almost certainly a surprisingly expensive con. Whatever you do, remember the golden rule "If you don't send money in advance you can't lose any".

Thanks, Adam. You are right, of course. But the reality is that ALL of them sellers just demand upfront payment. So, you have to risk, otherwise no chance to add something breathtaking to your collection... Victor

And I also got a mail asking HOW MANY PAIRS I WANT TO BUY.... So, 50% of, say, a thousand bucks makes $500. FOR NOTHING. And when I asked to send me some photos, "she" said she is "AT TIBET" now...

I exchanged few weeks ago some emails for very similar offer. Also offered was not only butterflies, but even pupaes !!! Same as now. Seller never write his/her name in comunication , but with help of his email I identified seller as Stanley Chinonso. Of course only Western Union payment was accepted and any my attempt arrange payment by bank transfer or Paypal was rejected due to "personal reasons". So I give up very quickly. I recomend to be extremely carefull also with this offer. Do not think this offer is real, species and subspecies seems for me just copied from Insect-Sale.com site. But who knows ? Anybody want to try as first ? As she offers also Parnassius pupaes I think it is easy to find true, just ask for available species as pupaes - only very few chinese Parnassius are bred. Jan

...and if she offers pupae now you should remember that most Parnassius species overwinter as eggs.

I looked over all of Diana's ads. They were all posted from the USA. I deleted all of the ads. Very suspicious.
