A couple of weeks ago, I ordered some butterflies from Michel Tarrier. As usual, the parcel arrived in a matter of 3 days, everything well packed, organised and labelled as it should be.
Unfortunately, one of the Satyrinae specimens which I ordered had a big hole in the centre of the right forewing which skipped Michel’s attention. So what I did was to take a photo of the specimen, which I sent to Michel and informed him about the condition of this particular butterfly. I also asked him if it was possible to send him back this specimen so that he can exchange it for me.
As a serious businessman, Michel checked his stock, but informed me that he doesn’t have any more specimens like the Satyrinae specimen that I got damaged and offered me to replace the specimen with something of the same value which he did. He even sent me a free specimen together with the replacement and once again everything well packed and labelled appropriately. Michel didn't even ask me to send him back the damaged specimen so he even saved me the hassle and cost of shipping back the damaged butterfly.
So, thanks a lot Michel for your excellent service.
I recommend Michel Tarrier to anyone who is interested in European and North African butterflies and Zygaenidae. You can find his contact details on insectnet as he frequently advertises his specimens but just in case you don't manage to get his contact details, I would be more than willing to provide them for you.

Michel is a great insect supplier + a real active defensor of nature in Morocco !
He has written interesting books that you can find on Amazon about butterflies but also about environment and politics. Some will find him too extremist... at least, his books are interesting to make us think about the future of Earth and humanity.

who visited Morocco as myself can not but agree with Michel. the state of nature in this country is at risk at each site and it is impressive how many miles you have to do to find places considerable in an excellent state of preservation. the legendary cedar forests are now a mirage and insects are very few, if we consider the wealth and size of habitat. you can not understand a subsistence economy based on farming and logging of ancient trees for heating. I too have purchased more than 300 copies by Michel and I can tell you that my experience is identical to that experienced by Jonathan, was missing two pieces, I called him and within a few days I received the guarantee to receive another 8 zygaene exemplary and well as the other was not available. I can say with certainty that the correctness with him is a guarantee.
