Here are some beetles from the Choco Forest (Western slopes of the Andes, North-West Ecuador). Many thanks for helping to ID these nice insects !!!

1. Is this Acrocinus the same than in French Guiana (from Tunda Loma, Esmeraldas, 100 m asl) ? Other sp. or ssp. ?

2. What about this big beetle from Los Cedros (Imbabura, 1600 m asl) ?

3. A beautiful Cicindelle (french name) from Los Cedros :

Some ideas :

1- Acrocinus longimanus (no ssp. known, as far as I know)
2- Dynastidae, maybe Coelosis ?
3- Pseudoxycheila sp.
4- Taeniotes ?
5- Passalidae
6- Maybe Erotylidae
7- Chrysinasp. (underview ?)
8- Elateridae, probably Semiotus

I really know very little about beetles, but the specimen in number 5 looks very like a species of family Passalidae we have here in Thailand, rather than a Carabid.

Ah, I have just noticed that Entomofou's reply also places this in Passalidae.
