I was given this specimen for free but with no data, it looks like epiphanes but would like confirmation.

For free, you must have some kind friends . With the extensive golden hindwings your specimen certainly look like a male epiphanes. I also have seen regis males with a lot of the gold coloration on the hindwings. Apart from rubianus and reginae, I always find it very hard to tell the male victoriae subspecies apart without seeing the data first. Most of the island populations of victoriae are so variable.

What Nomad said! Having had hundreds of specimens go through my hands, I have kept a few that look like different subspecies. Without correct data it is impossible to be 100% certain with epiphanes, victoria, regis and isabellae.
