Hey, I saw one darner and one meadowhawk I'd like to identify more exactly. These were taken by some wetlands in southeast British Columbia. Thanks in advance for any help!!

Possible i.d's: 1st video - male Striped Meadowhawk (Sympetrum pallipes) 2nd video - male Variable Darner (Aeshna interrupta)
Get the great little book "Introducing the Dragonflies of British Columbia & the Yukon" by Robert A. Cannings... available at Amazon.ca
I.D. #2 is very tentative as there are 4-5 Aeshna spp. that look similar... shape of the markings on the sides of the thorax are very diagnostic...

Thank you! I feel pretty good about the striped meadowhawk being correct.
For the darner I think either: Aeshna eremita (lake darner) Aeshna interrupta (variable darner) Aeshna canadensis (Canada darner)
I don't know if there is anything in the video that can narrow them down further. Thank you again!
