It ended with no bids. He probably sold it locally for who knows how much. It is quite unusual to find a live one in January though, unless he is rearing them inside. The earliest I've seen them here in Texas is March 21st. I caught two males on the same night at the same gas station about 20 feet apart.

D. tityus ecloses in fall and stays dormant underground (in tree holes) until the next summer. The guy probably dug it out from the ground while doing some garden work.

Could be worth it if it had a logo or famous name. Saw a ball python with the letters spelling "ELVIS" on the pattern. It was very clear. If that tityus had Micky Mouse ears, Disney might have bought it.
