Placed my first order with Girardis who is an advertiser here. I have not yet received the order but I must say the website is easy to use and there were quick answers to my questions. Prices were really good for what I needed. Looks like I will shortly be adding them to my list of people I do business with regularly. Their website is: www.giradis-insect.com/

The order was given a tracking number and it has been 24 hours. I know it can take EMS several days to get it in the database so let's see how long it takes them. I had an order one time take 7 days until it read "parcel accepted" on the tracking website. he only problem was that it had been delivered already!

The tracking now shows it arrived at the sending post office and left one minute later. If that is true, EMS is the most efficient post ever!

He just renewed his Billboard banner for another year. Thanks Giradis! It really helps.

The bill board is directly responsible for me ordering from Ianni, Thornes, Giradis, Insect Sale, and Tropical Butterflies. I have spent a few thousand dollars in the past year with them and would not have found them but for Insectnet.

I think that is about right - I spend about $250 a month on buying butterflies and other things to frame and sell. I checked the EMS tracking site and it is still not updated. On average I'd usually expect an order in about a week from Asia. It has taken 3 weeks from Europe before though.

Here is the status so far....
order was shipped on 1/25/2014. On 2/1/2014, it arrived in New York sort facility. Usually it takes less than a week to get to me in Florida after that. Am I the only one who feels like I'm waiting for Santa when a box of insects is on its way?
I did Email Giradis just to ask if it was normal for EMS to take so long to post an update and in their experience this was very normal. Nice to get a reply from a vender so quickly.

Was inbound for customs in New York on Sunday. On Tuesday, it was released and it arrived on Wednesday.
The order was very well packaged and labeled with exactly the needed documents. The small labels on the zip lock bags are great and contain good data. I am impressed with the quality and the prices. A GREAT experience. Certainly a top notch dealer!

Just a few misidentifications about Cetoniidae (confusions between Mycterophallus/Lomaptera, problems with names of Thaumastopeus, etc...).

Mistakes do sometimes happen with Identification and I understand that. I can usually look up and key out any changes. Having the data where an item was collected is much harder to determine. I liked that the month, year, and island and sometimes the mountain were recorded. When I collect, I record GPS and note the terrain/time of day/ and behavior if noticed (like at rest or flying low or what plant it was nectaring on). I don't expect this of others but it is nice to have.
