This one comes from Bosque de Paz, 1100 m asl, Rio Mira Valley, Imbabura (the Rio is the border between Imbabura and Carchi prov.). Looks like an Hylesia or, better, a Dirphia ? Wingspan : 8 cm. ID welcome ! Thank you so much !

Periphoba attali or something undescribed or recently described for first one. Attali is generally known from further south in Ecuador. I would like to see and display this one on WLSS after it comes off the board.
I agree with Automeris zugana for the second one.

I'd be interested in Ceratocampiinae you found. Any? Photos?

JMG Has the Periphoba species come off the boards yet? so that you can provide an image without the paper?

Thanks,
Lemaire does not mention the white suffusions on the underside of all wings for Periphoba nigra that show on the WLSS versions of P. nigra from Ecuador, so possibly those on WLSS are not true nigra, but maybe something undescribed. Your verso images do not show this white either.
Your specimen has a more pointed apex and a considerably more pre-apical forewing pm line compared to the P. nigra depicted in Lemaire's Hemileucinae, 2002.
I think your specimen might be P. nigra, but I think there is a good chance there are three different, but very similar species in question; one from western Colombia (Lemaire's images), one from Imbabura (your specimen with no white bands on verso image) and one from Pichincha (distinct white bands on ventral surfaces as shown on WLSS from Pichincha, both Leroy Simon and Horst Kaech images).
The Entomo-Satsphingia journal Jahrgang 6, Heft 3 covers many new species from Ecuador, but it does not introduce any new Periphoba.
I will post your images to the nigra file. Perhaps someday there will be a clarification. It is great to have the ventral images.
Thanks,
Bill Oehlke
