Forum member Nomihoudai (Claude) from Luxembourg visits me in Southern California to collect Philotes sonorensis. We caught some and we set up the females in small jars to harvest their eggs.

Nice video Clark. This exemplifies just what a wonderful website you have here, mostly because it brings us collectors together on a worldwide basis. Congratulations Claude on your successful trip, and opportunity to collect such special leps as the Sonoran Blue, and Sara Orangetip. This makes me yearn for springtime to arrive here in Tennessee, and possibly make a video of Falcate Orangetips(Anthocharis midea), and collecting Spring Luna's (Actias luna). Tom

Thanks for the kind comments and my compliments for this nicely done video to Clark! Thank you so much for taking the time to do some field collecting in California, it was nice to meet you. I'm in Florida at the moment and we caught a Luna moth this evening .

The 'sonars' will probably be done by then, but we have three species of checkerspots flying in May: Euphydrayas chalcedona, Chlosyne gabbi, and Thessalia leanira wrighti, so contact me when you get down here if you are interested to collect them. They all fly together (which is rather convenient).
