One of my relatives mentioned that they had some framed butterflies and sent me pictures of them. Most of them were common species, but I would like to know what species the Agrias are. Also, is the sulphur a dark philea, or is it avellaneda? Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAlso, sorry for the bad pictures.

I don't know what the identifying characteristics are between the 2 Phoebis, both avellaneda and philea subspecies thalestris look very similar.

I don't know what the identifying characteristics are between the 2 Phoebis, both avellaneda and philea subspecies thalestris look very similar. The key to differentiate between P.avellaneda- and P.philea females is the underside of the butterflies. The Philea females have a yellow brownish underside while the Avellaneda females have a red underside.
