Last night I stumbled upon a female Poplar Sphinx with a damaged wing muscle, I ended up putting her in a kill jar since she was so beat up but she laid some eggs before passing. I'm not sure if there's any left in her, do I need to worry about these eating their way out? It's also the biggest fresh lep I've ever mounted. Do I need to take another precaution to prevent rotting?
Thanks for any help.

Any eggs still inside the abdomen will be infertile. They are only fertilised as they are in the process of being laid, so there is no possibility of larvae eating their way out of the body.
As for prevention of rot, just try to dry the specimen reasonably quickly, and ensure that it is completely dry before removing it from the board.
Adam.

I don't see these very often here, so hopefully the remaining eggs will hatch. Thank you for the help!
