Hey cacicus, I actually netted the gem myself . I was at the right place at the right time so saw it as my gift from Father Christmas. Could it be that I must have been an extra good boy during the year??

Laurie, many congratulations on this and the amazing graphiums you have collected this last few months, you certainly have the knowledge, resources and above all the energy to be in these remote places at the right times, it's hard enough to get to some places and collect a specimen of any condition, to get them in the condition you manage is just reward for what must be hours of planning. Keep up the great collecting and keep these threads coming, fantastic, I'm more than a little jealous.

What wonderful good luck & in perfect condition too... WOW! I collected my own wild gynandro (S. cybele) many yrs. ago & know the great odds against one of collecting such a rare ab. of any b-fly/lep. spp... Huge Congrats!! Keep up the great posts...

Have more specimens of Hypolimnas inopinata been found in Figi ?
There's only one picture of a single specimen on Robert Westphal's site
