The last couple of days i have been finding a few stag beetles on my patio Tonight there are loads of males and i female on the patio Never seen them in large numbers before and this early in the year

I live in North Carolina, U.S. A friend told me he spotted a Lucanus Elaphus the other night but was unable to capture it. I've never seen them this early but I've only ben collecting for about six years. Right now I'm not catching much except for Phyllophagas, rice beetles, a couple of monochamous longhorns and a couple or three small clicks. The weather is just starting to heat up here. I'm hoping for good luck next month. Cheers,Arrowhead

Here is a pair i left in a pot. Not a good idea as they seem to have had a bit of a fight. They have now been released
