An outbreak of Snout Butterfly (Libythea celtis) has been obsereved this year in Japan. Recently this species seems to increase in number but nobody knows the reason.
Here I would like to share the video of this phenomenon.
Some of the spcies in Snout Butterfly (Genus Libythea) have migration. In this species (L. celtis), the migration from lowland to hills or mountains is observed.
Several years ago, I introduced another outbreak of Lycaenidae. Again I gave the link for your information. This outbreak is still continuing for 5-6 years after the local researchers found this amazing event.
Cheers, mokky
