this one is much larger than the first ornithoptera, around 6 inches, much bigger than the male from Manus Island, my first thoughts were priamus priamus but the underside markings are different to my other priamus priamus pair.

My first thought is O. priamus priamus, I think it is the nominate. Can be variable in the verso. Usually the largest subspecies.

dunc - I am also looking forward to the AES, being a excellent setter, I am sure you will find the time for those papered specimens, which should see you through the drab cold English winter.

My son has started collecting seriously now so he will be coming with me too, if you are with Clive we may see you there.

I expect Clive will be there before me, if he is having tables, but I check this Saturday, as I am popping down to photograph some of his collection and picking up some specimens for my collection. It would be nice to say hello at the fair, so - we will have to arrange a time to meet and do so this year, perhaps at Clive's table.

I tend to spend up pretty quickly at Kempton so maybe around 12.30 at Clive's table?
