Well I really hate to admit it, but I really got scammed today by some guy who claimed to be from the US Dept. of Treasury. He had a heavy Indian (as in India) accent. If you get a call from one of these jerks, Don't Believe Them!!! They sound very convincing, but as I found out too late they are well trained to lie, and rip people off. Go with your gut feeling, I wish I had. I can only hope an investigation leads to their arrest, and maybe I can recover my money. Man! I could just kick myself right now!!

I got a call from a person stating I had defaulted on a loan and had to pay it. I then asked for the mailing address to send the money. Since he do not want me to know where he was, he hung up! Anyone asking for money should be able to provide a mailing address to send it. If they won't, don't!

I am including a link to a video issued by NYPD in regards to the latest scam that is sweeping the nation, and probably is affecting Western Europe as well. I am doing this for fellow Insectnet members so you don't get taken by these criminals. I only wish I had heard of it before I was victimized. The scam I fell prey to was quite a bit more complicated, but the principal is the same....don't trust anyone you don't know over the phone!!!!
