Not really a "trading report", but I figure this is the best place to put it. I have heard of a Chuck Kondor and a Charles Kondor. Are they the same person? Also, what is his email? He gave me his business card but I lost it.

I have exchanged specimens with him once, and i live in New Zealand. His specimens come in riker mounts and overpriced in my opinion. He had some rarely collected Morpho rhetenor hightoni and Morpho Diana i had my eye on at one stage which I presume that he sold them.

Actually I don't know why I had not thought about it before (maybe because it was a long time ago) but I remember the trade I did with him went sour. I swapped some nz specimens with him in exchange for a certain specimen. He told me the first parcel never arrived, so being a genuine collector I sent him a replacement. Among that first parcel was certain specimens that were not replaced by the replacement parcel. That following week he was selling the specimens that were in that original first parcel! Certainly he is not truthful and gets what he can out of you. Although I got the specimen I was after from him, it came at a cost to me and I was quite annoyed he lied about not getting the first original parcel...

Ok, I get the point that Chuck apparently isn't the most trustful. However, I still need his email, if anyone could tell me what it is that would be helpful.

He also has been accused in the past of making up data for specimens.
I have ckondor@wi.rr.com in my addressbook, but it's been some years since I e-mailed him.
Adam.

Sorry to say, many bad experiences from quite a lot of people over the decades, and he has been in deep doo-doo with the US Wildlife agencies for many years.

He's selling on Ebay and you pay by Paypal, so buyers are fairly well protected.
In a rare breach of habit, I actually bid on a couple specimens he had on Ebay. Won them. Collecting data included country and date, but nothing more specific.

I have never had any problems with Chuck in recent years and he has bought a lot of stuff from me on Ebay, he pays promptly and gives good feedback if deserved. Andrew

Many years ago, I purchased a specimen from a very reputable dealer in Canada who was offeringan A1+ specimen that originated from French Guiana and was collected by Chuck Condor(?). This specimen was packaged on thick cotton and surrounded by plastic wrap. Viewing this specimen through the wrap (a common method used to protect Arthropod specimens from damage during transit), all looked fine- however neither I, nor the supplier in Canada who is a good friend and who I have known for a very long time, could observe anything wrong before unpacking the specimen from its packaging. Once opened, and the cotton pulled away from the sides of this insect (a T. giganteus)there was an entire leg missing from the specimen. It took some years to find another damaged specimen with an entire left hind leg to replace the missing limb!
