I use Kill Type Bait Traps to collect in the forest canopy. One never knows what he may find. I set this trap out and up, about 45 to 50 feet, in and old Hardwood Forest. Mostly Oaks, Hickory, Poplar, etc. on August 6. I retrieved and checked the trap on 24 August. It contained a good number of moths, including dozens of Catocala and Zale. There were also a 30+ Cerambycidae Beetles of one species. The photograph below is one and I think is Eburia quadrigeminata (I know, I need to buy the new beetle book). I am assuming that beetles occur in the Canopy. Can anyone confirm the identification and canopy occurrence? I am not a Coleopterists by any means, beetles are a royal pain in my traps. Every year I manage to fill several Schimtd Boxes full of beetles. I use them to barter for Lepidoptera with friends. Based on my traps, it appears to be a good year for Cerambycidae.

I don't have Adam's memory or the book at hand, but it occurs in NE USA as well. I've nabbed a couple at lights.

Eburia quadrigemminata (Say). A male. I have a series of them from Illinois. They come to lights quite frequently. Jeff Prill
