Again not sure if this is a "full" species or just a subspecies of louisa

It should indeed be devyatkini. Sadly Devyatkin died recently.

I have 32 specimens on the way to me, including devyatkini, eamsei and mathilda from central vietnam, the mathilda I'm not certain about though as they have very light brown / white boarders to the hindwing, differing from both the Laos and Thai specimens of mathilda, but then as you've read on the other two threads on Stichopthalma they are very confusing. I'll post photos of mine when I have them set.

Where did you get the nominates from as I've been trying to find a supplier as I would like a few more, also ranohngensis and siamensis from southwest and southeast thailand, I managed to get cambodia from southeast thailand but the supplier couldn't get siamensis even though they can be found together. Stichopthalma are protected in Thailand though so this is probably why, doesn't seem to stop Mathilda specimens to be seen everywhere though.

Hi Rich The S louisa louisa are from Indowings. I got them quite recently so you may be able to get some for yourself-hope so anyway.

I've set my stichopthalma specimens today so I'll be posting photos in a few weeks, the mathilda specimens are quite different to Laos and Thai specimens. I've got some more on the way, also a couple of specimens from yunnan which I'm not sure about the I/d on.

These on the right are from Ba Na mountain, same locality as the eamsei specimens above, they are smaller wingspan than eamsei. On the left are nominate louisa and mathilda from Laos which don't have the white wing markings that these specimens have, the brown ground colour also varies as does the underside ground colour and markings, makes me wonder if there is some interbreeding between mathilda and eamsei. The centre specimen is a female from Bato mountain, not certain what this is? Rich

Wow, those are some very impressive and beautiful drawers of Stichopthalma. Any chance you might have a drawer something like that with O.paradisea lying about which you could post at a later time?

Wow, those are some very impressive and beautiful drawers of Stichopthalma. Any chance you might have a drawer something like that with O.paradisea lying about which you could post at a later time? Many thanks, surprisingly, no I don't have any drawers like that of paradisea, I've only got one pair of arfakensis and a male borchi, also only 2 pairs of Tithonus misresiana and no meridionalis, I had a pair of nominate a few years ago, sold them at a show with the intention of buying several more pairs but IFTA closed and that was it, my supplier had finished. I then concentrated on other suppliers in Indonesia but struggled with getting CITES permits as they were dealers not the breeders so I haven't had ornithoptera from them. That's one reason why I started with stichopthalma and charaxes. Rich
