Hi gang, Took this bad photo in Long Tan. Looks like memnon; however, the UPS had metallic green, not blue. You can just barely see the green shading in the photo. UNS HW had orange spots. Overall it was pretty beat up. I couldn't get a better photo because it was in an industrial outflow area. Yuk. Thanks, Chuck

It's very hard to tell what it is by looking at the somewhat blurry photo at an angle. I expect that it is probably a very old memnon, as it doesn't appear to have the forewing androconia that a bianor male would have. The underside markings on old memnon males can turn orange with age. It could possibly be a beaten up old bianor female, but females don't normally drink industrial outflow and the suchlike.
Sorry I can't be definitive. Adam.

Thanks Adam. Aren't memnon with blue dusting on UPS? This one was green.

Thanks Adam. Aren't memnon with blue dusting on UPS? This one was green. Chuck Yes, memnon normally has blue dusting on the upperside, so I guess it may be a very old bianor female. If there was a photo of the underside it may actually be more obvious what it is, and we will never actually know for sure. Adam.
