Hi,
I have some interesting empty pupae. I would like to put them in the collection, but have no idea how to do it right. It's not common in collections, and information about some scientific approach is scarce.
The only idea I have is to glue them to a glue-board.
Any knowledge, experience, ideas?
Thanx

When they are empty I fill them with small cotton or paper tissue balls and add some glue and try to reconstruct the pupae. Sometimes the butterfly inside dies and they never hatch, in that case I can pin them immediately. I pin my pupae because I like to see them from every angle. All in all it is a difficult task that needs some practice.

Adding pupae shells and cocoons/ova etc. add nicely to a collection. Below are a couple of pics of some of mine. I even included cast larval moulting skins..
