Thanks and sorry for the late reply. Upon further checking I am sure you are correct. While I'm thinking about it, is there an easier way of getting a pin started through these very hard beetles without damaging them? I've had to use thicker pins than normally would be used for such small specimens because the thinner ones bend so quickly.

With mine, I used #2 pins and twisted as I pressed. These are tough to do. To best get the pin in, I also used pinning forceps about half a cm above the elytra and pressed.
