The intrepid explorer Laurie along with Chris Mueller have rediscovered Chilasa moerneri mayrhoferi and collected the female. Their exciting discovery has just been published in Australian Entomologist, 2014, 41 (4): 191-196.
Laurie kindly sent me a pdf copy and asked me to post the news here. If anyone wants a copy just e-mail me and I will send a copy. My address is visible in my profile.

Nice catch laurie!, it sure is one interesting species. Im sure the true beauty of the scales never show the greatest effect in photo's. Can't imagine what it was like to net it either must have been such a thrill.

Nice catch laurie!, it sure is one interesting species. Im sure the true beauty of the scales never show the greatest effect in photo's. Can't imagine what it was like to net it either must have been such a thrill. I can imagine what it's like. If you're under 45 it's an incredible rush. If you're over 45 you wonder if you might have a damned heart attack and better calm down.
