Just recently a new species of tiger beetle from the genus Cicindelidia was described in the open-access journal ZooKeys. The new species is quite beautiful looking, elaborately patterned in brown and white. The finding of this new tiger beetle just goes to show that, even among some of the most well-known groups of beetles there still is new things to find, even in relatively well-known areas - you just have to look for it.
