Does anybody know which subspecie this Papilio paris is?? It has a wingspan of 80mm, and was collected in Taiwan, Nantou Co., Dream Valley, Puli; Jun 10, 2000 Thank you  |

We all know the definitive answer will come from Adam! However, to my knowledge, it's Papilio paris nakaharai in northern Taiwan and Papilio paris hermosanus elsewhere.

Yes, this is a male of ssp. hermosanus. You can clearly see the androconial patches on the forewings, which are not present in nakaharai.
There is a distinct possibility that hermosanus may be worthy of specific status, and this needs further study.
