Ah, I totally missed this contest. Didn't even realize it was going on until I just saw the last post (not that I would've gotten the correct answer anyway)!! Congrats Entoman and again big thanks to cacicus101 for your generosity!

Yes, I have. There is another much bigger species with black wings and a stripe across them here as well, Tosena melanoptera I think, which is known locally as "Maeng Mae Lah". It is said to be a sign that you planted your rice too late in the season if the cicada emerges first.

My package for this weeks contest looks like it will be a while at customs, so I made a crossword to give you guys something to do. No prizes for completion, but it should be fun.
