I caught the following Parides species in Honduras. I can tell which female goes with witch male, but can't tell what they are, please help. Label as follows: HONDURAS, Atlantida Pico Bonito Elev 472 Feet Jun 24-Jul 2, 2010 Attachments:

I think the top pair is Parides eurimedes mylotes and the bottom pair are Parides iphidamas iphidamas. But I'm sure Adam will clear it up for you if I'm wrong.

Rich is right about the top pair, Parides eurimedes mylotes, but the bottom pair are probably Parides panares lycimenes.

there you go, told you. very similar those two, but now you've said it I can definitely see it in the female, males are so variable though.

The shape of the innermost red streak in the hindwing band of the male and the line of the inner edge of that band give it away, but this subspecies is really close to iphidamas in appearance.

Thanks Adam and Rich. Please take a look at the following picture, # 1 is what you both identified as Parides eurimedes mylotes. # 2 is a pair from Guatemala, and I thought those were mylotes; there is a significant size difference. Is my identification for # 2 correct, are they also mylotes?? Thanks Attachments:

Yes, these are also mylotes. The size difference could be due to environment, season or a different species of Aristolochia as larval foodplant.
