I was wondering if it is possible to breed up eggs from Thecla betulae and Lycaena dispar. Or do the eggs need to 'grow up' on a living plant (I can imagine that)?
Is there anyone who can say something usefull about it?

I guess it would probably be possible to rear these two species on cut food but the foodplants of both species wilt very quickly when cut so I wouldn't recommend it for more than a few days. I have reared both species many times but only on sleeved potted plants.
