I want to make you all aware of the website www.observado.org, which is a sort of digital log. In my country, the Netherlands (and in Belgium), it is quit popular to share your observations of all kind of species groups. I use it myself to register viewings of birds, dragonflies and damselflies, butterflies, moths and sometimes even plants. It is convenient to share viewings, for example when you go on holiday to a unknown country or region. It also increases knowledge about distribution of species. One more thing: you need to register in order to use the website, but that is free. The exact location of endangered species is mostly automatically faded and will be placed under a sort of embargo.
