I have received my copy of the Papilionidae volume and am impressed with the many unusual specimens figured on the 32 excellent quality plates. There are amazing gynandromorphs and aberrations, as well as photos of various subspecies of Papilio rex and Papilio ophidicephalus. There are also some interesting hybrids, both natural and man made.
There were a few typos in the text, which I feel are worth listing here:
text page 1, Plate 10, 12 & index. hippacoon should read hippocoon Plate 13 & index. tillibus should read tibullus Plate 14 & index. costantinus should read constantinus Plate 17 & index. meckinnoni should read mackinnoni
Papilio bromius should also be called P. chrapkowskoides, as bromius is a junior homonym.
Despite the few errors I have listed I do feel this book is well worth adding to any butterfly enthusiast's library.
Adam.
