It has happened once again. When you start throwing around words such as 'criminal' in the Trading Reports then you get me in trouble, especially if you are referring to other Forum members. Please read again the Guidelines for this section: insectnet.proboards.com/thread/55/guidelines-rules-posting-trading-reportsIt got so bad recently that I just had to delete entire threads and we lost some valuable trading report information. Just stick to the facts of the transaction you are reporting on. Can you do this without foaming at the mouth please? I don't get paid enough to dissect and edit every Trading Report post for violations of policy. I would not be able to sleep. So when a report thread goes south I tend to dump the whole thing out of frustration instead of trying to edit it. Don't make me do that. Follow the example of Adam Cotton. He posts informative critiques about problems with traders without using slander. So you see, it can be done if you are clever with the language. Thanks. |

If the other forum members will pay back the money that was stolen from me, I will be posting sunshine and flowers from now on. It is easy to be passive when you have not lost many thousands of dollars to criminals. The day you lose your hard earned money to a criminal you will understand.......................
If someone steals money from someone through fraud, that is criminal activity. Check with your local legal authority to confirm that if you must..............

Please tell me how you know that I have not lost money myself. Speak for yourself by all means, but please do not make unsubstantiated statements about other people.
Thanks to Clark and Joe for your kind words. I believe quite simply in the "Do as you would be done by" principle. The world would be a much better place if more people followed this simple tennent.

Adam hit the nail on the head! Unfortunately, all of us who are active in buying insects from around the world have been burned at one time or another. (I just got an email from a gentlemen in the UK who lost $300 to an Indonesian scammer). The amount of money that mikelock34 has lost to Greg Watson is substantial. This kind of loss is just not acceptable. Greg has actively tried to defend himself on this forum as an honest trader. Until he makes things right with mikelock34 Greg just doesn't fit in the category of being an honest supplier. I very much appreciate the fact that Clark has made this forum available so that we can stay informed as much as possible. Hopefully the dialogue contained here will motivate Greg somehow to do the right thing.

I remember that in the old threads that were deleted Greg did say that he is gradually clearing his debts, person by person, and Mike did post e-mails between him and Greg that support this claim.
I also received an e-mail from Greg a few days ago which I think is only fair to reproduce here (hopefully he won't mind):
"I have asked Clark to remove all my posts - everything. THATS it - DONE and everyone can look for their next sacrifice.
I don't claim innocence here - but I am not guilty of the crime as I am not running or hiding from anyone - and I am trying to pay so where is the scam? Scamming is like a confidence game - or con man game - I have lots of people who have bought from me and they got what they ordered. I have paid back Jaume and Glenn and am working now with Bob - so where s the scam?

I think it would be good to hear confirmation from some of the people who have been compensated by Greg. I seem to remember that 'sagra' said he has received compensation from Greg after posting his 'open letter'. We readers of the Trading Reports section get to see mostly bad news, and sometimes there is no follow-up when wrongs are righted.

There have been many emails back and forth recently between Greg Watson and I, but I have not received any compensation yet. He told me he is working on it and I believe him. I intend to let everyone here know as soon as I start receiving compensation.

I recently had correspondence with Greg about a longstanding deal that has been so long ago that I lost count of the number of years it has been. Suffice to say, it has been over 5 years. Greg owned up to the fact that he, indeed, owed me the specimens and was apologetic. I have never pushed my deal with Greg over the years because I felt he has never been dishonest with me. He, in fact, flat out told me that he forgot about my deal and that he was faced with a lot of issues - I believe him. I also suspect with him being a "middleman" where he acts as a "broker" of receiving money and exchanging parcels is what gets him into problems of either not receiving the goods or the specimens being of a quality less than promised- if you have the specimens FIRST, in stock/at hand, you can ascertain and inspect both the available quantity and quality. There would be no need to backtrack.
He has said that he has my specimens and that they will be sent soon. I hope they arrive as promised and the quality is as agreed. I'll certainly post when I have received and inspected them.

To be fair, greg should come to the forum and explain for himself. It's no good saying he wants all his comments removed from insectnet, that's the easy way out. When he stated that he sent specimen out to people what they ordered, they didn't ask for broken, parts missing and rotted. HE IS GUILTY, and as forum members, we should stand up for the innocent ones. It's ok to call africans scammers and cheats, he's just as bad......There's no wonder i'm out of all this rubbish.....

No problem Mike, and thanks for the apology.
I am sure everyone knows that you have been ripped off by various South American and/or African dealers/scammers (as have many of us), as well as having problems with other supposedly reputable dealers.
Oh, and you are right, the "do unto others" philosophy is often not actually easy to stick to 100%.
