I have three videos of various insects on wild roses. If it is preferable, I can make screen captures of each video. The videos are taken in Squamish, British Columbia, Canada (near Vancouver) in the natural setting of a river estuary.
The first is a beetle around ~ 2mm long:
As I don't know insects very well, I'm not even sure what this is. It's approx. 1/2"long. There is also a tiny fly on the rose:
Lastly are two beetles that are probably around 1/2" long:
Much thanks in advance for any help. I understand how great of a mutlitude of beetles and other insect species there are and how a definite identification could be difficult from just these clips. Any narrowing down of possibilities would be awesome.

Greetings,
The beetle in number 1 appears to be something near the Cryptophagidae, but I cannot be 100% sure from what I can see. The insect in number 2 is a species of earwig. The specimens in number 3 are longhorned beetles (family Cerambycidae) and are most likely Grammoptera subargentata. The upper specimen has reddish legs - a common color variant in this species in the Pacific Northwest - in most other areas adults are all-black.
Cheers! Bandrow

Greetings,
Glad I could help!
And nice to have a fellow Rush fan recognize the avatar! I was planning to go see them in June in Columbus, Ohio (I'm in Pittsburgh) - but plans changed and I'll have to skip them this time. Hopefully they'll have a second leg to the tour in the fall and play somewhere close to here. I've seen them maybe a dozen times - the first being in the late '70's during the 2112 tour (awesome!!!) - and every show has been fantastic - they just keep getting better. I just finised reading Neil's book "Ghost Rider" - a really moving piece of work about his "escape" after losing his wife and daughter. You will enjoy the show!
Cheers! Bandrow

Bandrow That's awesome that you saw them so many times. It was somewhere between Permanent Waves and Moving Pictures that I became a fan as a kid. I love their whole catalogue of work, but never went to see them. For one, they never came to my home town in that time (except after I moved from there about 10 years ago haha). It's going to be so great. I would seriously regret if I never went to see them when I had a chance. July 17th! Can't wait. That's amazing that you saw them on the 2112 tour. I think tours between Permanent Waves and Grace Under Pressure would've been such amazing mixes of old and new. I read Ghost Rider last year too. His quotes from Rush songs at the start and end of every chapter were so fitting. Anywaaays, thank you for your original help and I hope there's a second leg to this tour for yourself : )
