It looks to be a beetle in the genus Anthrenus, the infamous 'Museum Beetles'! They are totally harmless to humans but if you have any insect or other organic collections beware, the larva eats these. They will also chew on paper, cardboard and woolen clothes occasionally but no need to panic unless you see a lot of them. The adults live outside and feed on pollen. Dave

That is very true Olivier, I found two on my bedroom windowsill today. They did not live long! I must now make sure all my drawers and boxes are topped up with PDB. Dave

Thanks for the quick response guys. It got squished after I took the pics! I take pics of lots of bugs, it's nice having a place to figure out what they actually are... I'll post more later if you don't mind?
