Every month of every year Since October, 2001 an online newsletter has been posted for the World's Largest Saturniidae Site membership at www.silkmoths.bizland.com/June2015jpaamembersupdate.htmThe newsletter includes updates to the Saturniidae site, North American Catocala website and Sphingidae of the Americas website, and also advises members of what is available. For instance cocoons of Rothschildia lebeau forbesi are expected to be available for shipping within the next ten days. Luna cocoons were available a couple of weeks ago. Many Saturniidae species are currently available in egg stage. Members get discounts on livestock and sleeves compared to non-member prices. I try to keep abreast of the many changes that happen with regard to Saturniidae nomenclature, based on recent publications. Over 1550 different worldwide Saturniidae species are depicted on site. My children have all left the nest and I am no longer looking after tuition payments. One time life time membership fee is $25.00 Contact oehlkew@islandtelecom.com if you would like to become a member or submit articles and or images. I give complimentary membership to those who can supply images of Saturnniidae species not already depicted on the site. Bill Oehlke

Wow. That's a wealth of information and a good advertisement. Those aberrant lunas are mind-bending.

Thanks, Clark, There is an extensive hybrid section showing results of over 100 combinations. Some of the hybrids are extremely beautiful. There are relatively complete listings for each country in the world known to have Saturniidae populations. Here is a link to May Newsletter. Note the comparison table for Gamelia. I continue to work on comparison tables for species which are easily confused in an effort to help myself and others with id work. www.silkmoths.bizland.com/May2015jpaamembersupdate.htmBill Oehlke

Which reminds me... Members are welcome to post advertisements here for your insect businesses. Just make sure the posts are not too time-sensitive. In other words, don't post specific items for sale lest your post will be obsolete after they are no longer available. Use the Classifieds for specific items.
But for general info on your business, this is a good place to post. And it's free. So let's see some more.

Thanks Clark, To me this is a timeless ad as I hope the WLSS to be operational until my death, and I will make arrangements with someone else or some other organization to host the site after I have left this world. I started the July newsletter today and am posting all instars of Caio witti, courtesy of Leroy Simon, a fifth instar of Lintneria merops from Costa Rica, courtesy of Ismael Chaves Aguilar and a very beautiful hybrid male result from Hyalophora cecropia female x Hyalophora euryalus courtesy of Scott Packham. I will momentarily affix the hybrid image to this posting as well as the merops larva. Bill Oehlke
