6th: Cut the abdomen lengthwise. 7th photo: remove the fat. This moth had been frozen overnight,in a freezer. Use a small screwdriver to scrape the fats out of abdomen. 8th photo: solid fat below the moth that had been frozen overnight. Fats of moths that had not been frozen, were not solid and more difficult/tricky & messy to scrape out of abdomen. You must remove the fats by cut the fats in pieces, with small screwdriver. Do not try to remove the whole solid frozen fats out of abdomen as abdomen will be ripped or come off the thorax if you try to remove whole fats. Pay to cut the solid fats in pieces. 9th photo: Adbomen, removed of contacts (gutted). Talcum powder had been applied to empty abdomen. 10th photo: Use the tweezer to hold abdomen skin...rub in talcum (baby) powder inside abdomen, with a small (100mm) screwdriver...scrape the fat...careful not to rub the abdomen on paper. Use talcum powder to remove fat which will come out as you scrape. then scrape the fat (along with talcum powder) out of abdomen. All fats must be removed from abdomen, then put talcum into abdomen in place of fat, then shake the excess talcum powder out of empty abdomen, then stuff the empty abdomen, with cotton.
