This should be a VERY obvious heads up, but just tossing this one out there. He offers Titanus and collections of Gloss Swallowtails on eBay, and has this in the comments. I am not accusing anyone though, you can make your own assumptions. On a related note, I am currently offering self-caught pairs of Papilio elephanor, only $1300. If you buy more than 5 pairs, it comes with a free specimen of this newly discovered "Papilio chikoe" Attachments:

Disclaimer: for all those FWS agents watching down on us, I am NOT actually selling chikae, if that weren't obvious enough, I am merely mocking a fairly obvious scammer.

Presumably "Papilio elephanor" is also a newly discovered species, perhaps related to P. elephenor. Adam. PS. Thanks for letting everyone know about the dodgy dealer.

Page & Treadaway already showed that hermeli is a subspecies of chikae By the way, isn't 'cronos' a Greek name? Adam.

The cronos664 ID has been removed from Ebay, so we should be on the lookout for his next persona. I ran across him while looking for Titanus and he offered me a 190 mm specimen that his friend had stolen from a museum. I wouldn't consider purchasing anything stolen, but when he added the fact that it's 10% larger than the recognized record, I knew he was full of it and reported him to Ebay. As a relative newbie to the purchasing of insects, this was an eye-opener. Healthy skepticism from now on.

That is why I am wary when purchasing on eBay, which is rare anyhow.

Well, there are hundreds of great insect suppliers on EBay. Just read the ratings and avoid the "too good to be true" items from dealers with no rating.
