The Museum für Naturkunde Berlin has digitized images of some of their insect collection available on-line. Whole drawers are scanned at high resolution allowing panning and zooming in to individual specimens. Links and a description of the digitizing process can be found here:

A searchable database allows you to find relevant taxa. Clicking on a taxa brings up the image of the relevant drawer in which you can zoom in and pan around. High resolution imagery allows you to zoom in on individual specimens. Examples of a drawer image and zoomed images of individual specimens are below.
I was able to identify one of my unknowns (Coleoptera) by looking up the genus (Clinteria) and panning around in the relevant drawers until I found a good match. It can be a little tedious but I've found it helpful in several cases or if you're just curious to look around in one of the major European collections without leaving home.
