Is Eacles imperialis pini a recognized subspecies or just a form? Could this male possibly be a E. i. pini? It was collected in northern Indiana. 2014. It is small, about 100mm.

I collected pini a number of times in Michigan (Allegan County) in the late 1980's. Will living in Watseka, IL, I never encountered it.
If you live in the northern Indiana, it is probably pini. Yours have a more reddish/pinkish cast than my Michigan specimens.
