What are people's experiences with the Insect Collector's Shop? I tried searching this forum and saw one positive and one negative comment about this guy (Michel Lapointe) in the long negative thread about Yves-Pascal Dion. But I couldn't find anything else...

He has a high turn over. With many clients I would say reliable. Ordered once ok quality. One specimen from Buru Island Indonesia was simply labeled "Buru" no date or anything else. So good data may not be a priority...

I agree. Good quality, quick shipping, decent prices, but rather general data.

one bad experience, I received a specimen of lucanid wrongly developed (thorax espcially) that i seen only after setting as not obvious at first sight. He refused any discussion about it with unfair arguments ("mauvaise foi" in french) and uncommercial attitude. I stopped ordering anything from him.
I confirm problem with locality (imprecise for some and one time false, probably due to his provider).

I have ordered many times from this advertiser. Always received what was ordered and in quality as listed. Will certainly order again. Never had an issue to contact him about.

It is difficult to get more detailed data than just the island name for most Indonesian specimens, except from larger islands (Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Papua). I don't think that you can blame the (re-)seller for that. Usually month and year is also provided though. Adam. |

Although I've had the same species from Buru with detailed data from other suppliers. Perhaps the re-seller can advertise the fact that there is minimal data, this way there are no surprises. |

Hello there I am Michel Lapointe from Insect Collector Shop , sorry for the late reply but I just saw some I thing false information about my shop because I never refused any discussion about material that I send send to customers maybe you are confusing to some one else and about the data 99% of my material have full data .
