Just confirming whether this could be anything other than a gray hairstreak? This specimen was quite a bit smaller than I remember for the species - also a much darker gray than I've seen.

AIt appears to be Strymon melinus atrofasciata. The type locality is in British Columbia. What time of years did you find it? The eastern subspecies Strymon melinus humuli is rather small and darker gray in the early spring, April, when compared to those from May/June.
