Thought u might like to see my A. zephyria and A. io neomexicana crunching away on Wild Cherry. It's kind of like an extension to my trip to NM. Maybe I'll again have ova of A. io neomexicana in September if I can get a pair to copulate. The A. Zephyria will have to wait until next spring.....I think. Btw....the straw you see in the background is inserted along with cherry twigs so I can easily add water to the water bottle. The water level usually goes down an inch per day. I merely take a nozzled squeeze bottle and squirt water down the straw into the water bottle. This minimizes bothering the larvae to attend to maintaining decent water levels. It also helps keep me from rubbing against some of those larval spines.

I had a great time raising Io...on clover of all things. Thanks for sharing Bill.

Hey Bill, any chance zephryia larvae will have the coloration of IO larvae? Am thinking I may have gotten a mixed batch of ova from someone...

Obewan,
No, the larvae for zephyria are not even close to any of the io group. I've raised both many times and they are distinctly different. Looks like you got a mixture......maybe some goodies will come of them. Do u know what the mixture might be? Lots of io-looking larvae can produce quite a range from io to louisiana to neomexicana. Let me know what pops out after you rear them.
