If anyone were to read this thread, they might enjoy its comical side, if not, they would believe insect collectors were mad hatters. Sunburned, poison ivy, stung by fire ants, wet, cold, blew a couple thousand on vacation chasing bugs. 15% of the interior home space and 20% of the garage filled with bug stuff. Can't get published without a PhD in entomology. Government hates you- can't conduct studies outside USA, in Canada, in state parks, or national monuments. Willing to risk life to collect along the open Mexican border. Your storage drawers alone could buy a brand new GMC truck- but you drive a POS hatchback which is stuffed full. And when your time is up you're lucky to find somebody to take your life's work for free. Who they calling mad hatters? Agreed. In my case, I have run into countless snakes(never when actively searching for them though), poison oak, ivy, and sumac, all manner of stinging insects, crazy hicks, tweakers, and other interesting folk, one old man telling me that he didn't like my kind, drug smugglers and illegal immigrants in AZ, cougars, bears, and some vicious javalinas. Aside from almost falling of a cliff, sliding down some nasty slope, and busting my leg, breaking my ankle while chasing a fighting Morpho peliedes and M. polyphemus. The only time I didn't have a collecting incident was during an air assault mission in Central Afghanistan in the Hindu Kush where the blackhawk I was riding landed in this lush mountain meadow with either Parnassius inopinatus, or charltonius flying all over. If I only had a net then, but we started taking fire as the guys we were picking up came to the chopper.

Bigfoot arrived to Toronto? Few days ago I took a walk in one of the woodland systems in northern Toronto and I came across this stick structure. For the moment I thought the kids would play and build that, but lets face it what kid wants to play with sticks in the forest this days. Adults? they could made better job than this. Bigfoot ? Take a look

At the risk of starting this thing all over again, I somewhat reluctantly decided to respond to the photo of the stick structure. To me it looks like someone intentionally placed the sticks there in a haphazard arrangement. I can't see how this would have happened by weather, flooding or other natural occurrence. This could have been done by someone trying to build a lean to shelter, or even someone attempting a hoax. There are those that would see this and say this is proof of sasquatch or whatever, because they want to believe it so badly that they would argue the point. There are so many other possibilities to consider before we should conclude that this is bigfoot evidence in my opinion.

Greetings,
Beetlehorn - I had the same reaction as you - not this again! But - like a car wreck - I decided to "stop and look". So here's my opinion - while the scale is hard to judge, based on my familiarity of eastern hardwood forests in general, this looks like an awfully small structure to house a 7-8' tall being. The 'doorway' looks to be maybe 4' high at the most. Also, it appears to be built along a well-used trail - not the best place for a species that has apparently evaded detection for eons to place its sleeping quarters. I'd say it was built by one or more of my conspecifics, either as a temporary shelter, but more likely as a lark - the positioning next to a trail would ensure its discovery by others...
But I'm sure this can all be explained away by anyone who is predisposed to seeing Bigfeet everywhere they look...
Cheers! Bandrow

Of course it wasn't build by Bigfoot. The structure when I saw it just remind me of this subject and I wanted to point how easy is to believe in things if someone is making the suggestion.

Paulk Of course you and I know it wasn't Bigfoot... but then, maybe? You may have missed a meeting with the Big Feller by mere moments. Cheers! Bandrow

So that photograph is proof that Big Foot exists.
Why do they stack sticks? So if a stick stacker stacks stick, maybe the stick stacker just likes to stack stick to drive non stick stackers nuts.
Or maybe it is a Big Foot outhouse. Did it smell like Big Foot poop?
I can see where this is gonna go!!!

Look what I found, and it is in a forested area of central Indiana. Is this Sasquatch Stick Stacking. No BS, I actually found this in Morgan County, Indiana. Have Sasquatch been reported from Indiana? I could be a believer now................

Me too! Wife and I were hiking one of our favorite trails on Monday and there about 30 feet off trail was a similar assembly of sticks. I told my wife about Bluemoth's belief, but something in my telling left her unconvinced. I can't really think of any other creature which would assemble sticks for no purpose (unless maybe a human???) so it must be bigfoot.

Big Foot with a gun? And it sure looks like he had made a very nice deer stand. And evidently he knows how to use that rifle.
What is next? Armed Big Foot Guerrilla's in our forest? Next thing you know we will have an armed Big Foot revolt. And with all the crazy armed Red Necks, some Red Neck women would mate with Big Foot.
Naw, that ain't gonna happen. I think Big Foot has better taste than that!
Big Foot with guns. What is next? How about voluntary lie detector test for Congressmen?

Wait a minute, I went to all the trouble to photograph the Stick Stacking in the woods and not one comment from the "I told you so" Big Foot believers of America gang. Come on Blue Moth. No comment.

I have confirmed the existence of big foot by shooting two of them as I mentioned. If that dog and seagull had not eaten them, you would all be believers. I think leptraps should start selling bigfoot traps. If someone catches a specimen, they could sell it for at least one hundred million. If you sell your traps for twenty million each, your customers would make an eighty million dollar profit for each trap they purchase from you. That is an amazing deal! You are very clever and nice!

Well winter boredom will soon turn to spring joy when the insects start coming out! But you will also see and hear of amazing things in regards to Bigfoot this year as well. I will be meeting some of the Bigfoots I talk to before September comes of this year. The Bigfoots will allow me to take a video of them. I will make sure this video gets posted all over the internet some how and made free for every one to see. This is not fake stuff that is happening. The cat will be let out of the bag in a big way ( a second thing ) just be for or during September. Keep checking the Bigfoot networks. Amazing and incredible things will happen this year. I will post ware a video of Bigfoot can be seen when I have it. I am not sure of an exact time when I will meet the Bigfoots. Bluemoth, Did it really happen? It is September and we have all been hoping to see your video of Bigfoot. Rick
