I wanted to let this group who buys or trades, that anyone doing business with Peter Jakubek at info@esperanzainsects.com, make sure you receive your trade or purchased specimens from Peter before you send him any specimens or money. I sent Peter a number of butterflies in November of 2016 which he accepted and it seems he feels he does not need to honor the terms of our exchange and the material to me which he promised. Maybe he should change his email address to noesperanzainsects.com. It is too bad there are people like Peter that do not honor their agreements. Hopefully nobody else will deal with this individual as I see from other posts his track record is very poor.

I bought from him a couple of times years ago but he abuses of the shipping costs by inventing handling fees and packaging cost and handling costs and additional shipping cost when combining items...etc.. His specimens are not fresh neither, so I decided to cut him from my trusted list of suppliers.

Everything you don't want in a supplier--this is Peter Jakubek. He wrote the book on dishonesty, treachery and a
genuine contempt for the entomological community. Don't ever deal with this lowlife.

Wow, thanks for this reminder. I'd forgotten about him. He's recently been spamming entomologists (at least, in Europe - myself included) offering specimens, so expect to hear a flood of new complaints shortly... By the way, apologies for my prolnged absence guys...  Ian |

I had the same problem with Mgr Peter Jakubek, it's always complicated with him!!!! He's not a fait trader!

If everyone who has had a bad experience with Peter would continue to write him about his bad business practices, he might think twice about how he deals with people.

To be frank, I don't think he cares. This has been for a very long time, and he has not changed at all, just seems to get worse over time.
