Yes sir I am making progress. I am working on it by myself. I will have to enlist the help of my brother in law to set the trusses since I doubt I will be able to lift them on my own. I am going to put a heat/air unit like the ones in a hotel. There will be no plumbing at this point in time. Maybe down the road.

I admire your competence as a builder! You're making me commit the sin of envy. jh

Alright guys I have been making some progress on my building project. The sub floor is complete and the walls are framed. You cant see the side walls in the picture because they are under the tarp covering the floor since it cant seem to stop raining every few days here.

Building update. Thanks to torrential rains in spite of my best efforts to cover my sub floor with tarps storms recently have destroyed $300+ in flooring and cost me two full days of work. I had to remove the walls and take up 15 sheets of T&G flooring. I'm glad I started this during the "dry" time of year. Back to the drawing board and Lowes.

That sucks. In general it seems to be coming along nicely though. I'm quite jealous.

Thanks. Yes all things considered it was going pretty well until this happened. I'm thankful no more got damaged than it did. This is strange weather for my part of the country in August. Usually this time of year everything is turning brown from lack of rain. My yard looks like its May instead of August. I'm tired of mowing......

Jtaylor, I've seen some builders spray a good thick coating of Behr or other of brand deck treatment (waterproofing) on subflooring right after installation, on the theory that it will slow down water warping enough to get under roof... jh

I thought about that but it was too late. The first time it got wet was 30 seconds after I finished loading it into my truck. The second time I was on my way home with a tarp to cover it but too late it got soaked before I could get home. This last time two storms came through back to back and the wind blew the tarp off even though I weighed it down. OSB can take getting wet a couple times but unfortunately for me not that many and that much.

Its been awhile since I posted any construction pics so here is where I am on the building. It took forever to get my trusses 42 days to be exact. The plan is to get the OSB on the outside walls and install the door and windows before winter hits. I will work on the inside over the winter and then put on the siding next spring.

Thank you sir. I have decided I would not want to be a carpenter or a roofer for a living. I almost got off the roof the quick way twice now.

Thank you Mr. Cotton. I don't think it's too bad since I'm not a professional carpenter.
