ATTENTION, DEAR COLLEAGUES! Presently, several sellers are offering various Orn. victoriae specimens on eBay, some of them - for cosmic insane prices. Eagerly designating silly, stupid, and often illiterate "forms" in their listings, they don't say a word about one critically important aspect: the bulk of the specimens offered are SUPER-DWARFS, with the females not being an exception. In fact, the latter tend to belong with Microlepidoptera. Surely, you just can not guess how sad the truth is, until you receive the surprise package. So please, be warned...

Interesting. Of the thousands of Victoria I've seen, only one male was a dwarf. Those that Michael is raising in cages on Guadalcanal now- with nothing to bother them and plenty of food- are huge.

Apparently, these "top-rated" RE-sellers buy them dwarfs virtually for nothing. Poor uninformed buyers just can not imagine how things really stand and believe these are regular full-scale specimens... "Business", damn it...)))

I thought the attraction of birdwings was their large size.

When I was breeding leps I'd get dwarfs if the larvae were denied unrestricted access to food. With farming now becoming popular it would be no surprise to see dwarf specimens as a result of overcrowding, etc.
