I am far from being expert here, but in my opinion the abdomen looks like it is female so if one would make the “Frankenstein” here the hindwings should be attached instead of forwings. Also being a male already huge rarity I highly doubt that someone would take risk on that. But that is only my speculation and I don’t suggest if it is genuine specimen or fake.

Hi Paul, I got this butterfly from an old collection and prepared it again, because it was not good prepared. On my opinion the female is real.

Hi Jens I wasn’t a buyer who was questioning genuity of your specimen. It is real in my opinion too, however I wouldn’t be able to afford such a butterfly and even so I would personally visit you to make the deal and bring it home safely. Cheers Paul

This is rather strange. The thread was started by "flatterfee79" who has since unsubscribed from the forum. I think from Paul's second reply that he actually saw a photo posted by the departed f'79; if so, can Paul please confirm whether or not it is the same specimen as Jens Jakusch's superb female pictured above? Perhaps Paul can also fill us in on what f'79 asked in his original post.
Adam.

Yes Adam it is the same female as Jens has for sale. The person who was interested to buy this female was affraid it might be a male of Papilio lampsacus with attached forwings of P.forbesi female, therefor a big fraud. Also he pointed that forwings have scratches as the hindwings are quit fresh. I think he has not much experience as of course forwings are more prone to be scratched. As I made few suggestions here I wasn’t prepared to made 100% statement it is genuine specimen unless I would examine it in details in person. Let’s be realistic, who wants to spend €13000 without seeing the item in person plus trust international post to delivering it.

It is the same specimen shown in the original post. The original poster had doubts because the hindwings were less damaged than the forewings.
The seller is a registered German dealer, he will deliver quality.
I would just delete the topic as the original poster didn't have any rights to post the photos of the specimen here anyway and there is no way that we should doubt the seller.

Thanks to Olivier, Adam and Claude and also to Paul. If somebody is really interessted in the female and would like to see the female in original, he, of course, can come to me and see the female in Original.

While I agree with the second part of the statement I am sure that Jens will not object to photos of the specimen being posted here. After all, it's free advertising for a superb specimen. How anyone could imagine that this is a fake manufactured from male lampsacus and female forbesi is beyond me.

I agree with Adam 100%, while there have, in the past been elaborate fakes to replicate ultra rare specimens I can't for the life of me even begin to think this is one of them, I obtained my lampsacus from a very old collection also, we cannot doubt the honesty of the seller, his reputation is cast iron.

Jens is a TOP Dealer and I think a man of his quality would never allow himself to offer "fake" butterfly. In addition, he writes, that he again prepared this butterfly, so he would have to figure out that it would be a fake. I believe him, and it is incredible that he has managed to get such this huge rarity!

I do not believe I have seen a female offered before. I expect there maybe some in private collection? I believe the late Jan Pasternak was one of the last to see it in the wild many years ago, so a huge world rarity.
