Does anyone know the date when it became illegal to import specimens from Mexico? It seems like in the 1990's Mexico instituted a permit requirement system. Then the US, through the pre-existing Lacy Act started enforcing that bugs imported into the US had to be comply with the source country's laws. That's what shut it down for most people. Like others said above - with the correct paperwork - it is still perfectly legal. john |
